EPE Eneri

Overview

Electric Power Engineering's collaboration with The Acceleration Agency had a clear mission: transform a fragmented array of power system applications into the streamlined software suite, ENER-I (Energy Integrated). The ultimate goal for ENER-i® is to synergize planning and operational functions within electric utilities, paving the way for integrated energy resources and decarbonization. Over the course of TAA's strategic partnership many key initiatives were accomplished. Redesigned the software architecture and modernizing the user interface.
Crafted a comprehensive product roadmap informed by detailed requirements analysis.
Created a comprehensive staffing plan that projected staffing needs, refined roles, and ensured optimal team fit.
Built a strategic alliance with ESRI.
Adopted advanced DevOps and Agile development frameworks.
Initiated foundational go-to-market strategies.

With a revamped software team and recalibrated timelines, EPE is setting new standards in utility software efficiency and innovation. All this work was conducted concurrently while assisting the CEO to identify and fulfill other key organizational hires (e.g. CFO, COO) and compiling financial analytics profiles for the existing consulting business. Detailed operational financial analysis was conducted for 5 lines of business over the preceding period of 48 months illustrating the LOB growth and the organization’s ability to scale to meet growth on demand. Within 18 months, this work was a fundamental data set used in securing a funding partner who successfully executed a substantial private equity round for both the EPE consulting business and also secured a meaningful seed round for the new software company.
